Residential

Services

At Harmony Oaks Care, we aim to be an active and valued part of the local children’s services community, providing outstanding residential care for children and young people aged 11–18.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is rooted in empowerment and belonging. We help children and young people make positive choices within a safe, supportive, and proactive environment that nurtures personal growth, self-awareness, and a strong sense of identity.

Through a therapeutic approach, we tailor our care to meet each young person’s individual needs — ensuring they feel understood, valued, and supported on their journey toward independence.

At Harmony Oaks Care, we believe that every child deserves to belong and to grow in an environment filled with love, safety, and encouragement.

We do this because we care deeply — and because every child deserves:

Warmth and stability

Support and kindness

Clear boundaries

Opportunities to discover who they are and what they can achieve

Our children and young people are our future — and we are committed to helping them build a bright one.

What we do

Our goal is to provide parental care, emotional support, and stability to children and young people who may not have experienced these consistently before.

We work alongside our young people to help them:

Understand and manage their emotions

Build confidence and self-esteem

Develop positive life skills

We take a holistic approach to care, meeting emotional, cultural, religious, social, intellectual, and health needs. Our work is collaborative — we partner closely with:

  • Local Authorities
  • Schools and education professionals
  • Youth workers and therapists
  • Mental health and wellbeing services

We support and encourage education and training, helping each young person gain qualifications, confidence, and belief in their potential. Above all, we prepare them with the skills and resilience to take their next steps toward independence.

How We Do It

At Harmony Oaks Care, we know that our staff are our greatest strength. The quality of care we deliver depends on having a team with the right experience, compassion, and commitment.

We recruit and train staff who share our core values — empathy, respect, and dedication — and who consistently go the extra mile for our young people.

We listen carefully to feedback, compliments, and complaints, using every insight to improve what we do.

Our care practice follows national best standards across:

  • Education and social development
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Nutrition and physical activity
  • Emotional and therapeutic support

We also ensure that placement matching takes full account of each child’s gender, sexuality, disability, religion, culture, and heritage.

Harmony Oaks Care works in close partnership with Local Authorities, Ofsted, CAFCASS, and other professionals to ensure the highest safeguarding standards are met at all times.

Planned Placements

We believe a planned move into our home gives the best possible start. Our process includes:

  1. Receiving full referral and placement information
  2. Visiting the child or young person in their current placement
  3. Arranging a visit to our home
  4. Holding an internal matching meeting
  5. Completing a placement meeting with the Local Authority

Emergency Placements

We understand that emergencies sometimes happen. When an urgent placement is needed, we complete a careful assessment to ensure the move is suitable and safe — both for the new arrival and for those already living with us.Our focus is always on minimising disruption and ensuring that every child enters a secure, welcoming environment as quickly as possible.
